Sprinkles of Black Girl Magic.
Dipped in chocolate. Dipped in chocolate, bronzed in elegance, enameled with grace, toasted with beauty. My lord, she’s a black woman. -Yosef A.A. Ben-Jochannan
The beautiful brown skin women in this network members only group on Facebook showed up. They always do.
I have been looking forward to today! And the perfect weekend helped prepare me for it.
Family. Lauren’s (my niece) birthday where I nailed my first try at making cotton candy using a cotton candy machine (check it out HERE), and manicures. I recently began doing my gel nails at home and made a part of the birthday girls gift a manicure. Well two hours and 5 hands later it was done. My nieces kept running back to me, both happy and intrigued by the fact that the polish was dry instantly and that it looked pretty. Happy heart knowing that experience will probably last then a lifetime.
Faith. Yesterday I attended a new church home and well the word was everything. A gentle reminder that I have grown through a deep mess time and time again, through Gods guidance, His love and His support. I must thank Him more often. AND deal with the results of the pain growth has brought us through. Living unhealthy is holding it all in. Let it go. We all should.
Ok so the announcement. The driving force behind an exciting today: the kick off of Naturals Who Network official Goal Digging Women Campaign. The Connecticut inaugural event is happening starting with Hartford, CT in 6 weeks (from today) then expanding, and my heart is THE happiest.
Authentic connections, sisterhood, life enhancing connections. I am summing up all of the magic I have experienced, all of the lessons I have learned and all of the connections I have made and I’m combining them together for ALL OF US to learn, grow and love. The juicy details are SO GOOD (special additions and things to look forward to) will be advertised on our Facebook page HERE and instagram page HERE. Ladies, you won’t want to miss this.
Until next time,
