Live Jazz Charity Event, 3/2

Events, Wellness

Back in 2010 I founded non profit Hope 4 Autism in response to my daughter being diagnosed with the disorder, and realizing local resources were pretty much non existent. I sought out to create the opportunities I thought should exist like the monthly not-so-typical autism support groups for the caregivers and mini grants to support needs and services.

I held the 1st annual Strut 4 Autism event which is the organizations signature gala.  I wanted it to be special.  It included open bar and a live jazz band by  a wildly talented group of High School students.  The leader of the band, Mike Casey, reached out to me asking if they could perform as they needed to fulfill this obligation in order to graduate.

These young men were A M A Z I N G.  Like blown away with their talent and how perfect they were with the performance.  I have a soft spot for young people sharing their amazing gifts with the world.

Post the event, I shared my love for the band and encouraged Mike Casey to continue playing post high school.  Fast forward 6 years of me following his determination and growing career, my heart is the absolute happiest to bring this in full circle.

Mike Casey is releasing his first album and his final performance on his tour is an amazing live jazz concert at one of my FAVORITE southern style restaurants in downtown Hartford, Black Eyed Sally’s.  In addition, another talented, dedicated and entertaining young Artist Tangsauce will be the host.

I’m just as eager to share proceeds from this event will benefit RiseUP which is the amazing local non-profit organization Brown Skin Women Youth has partnered with.  In order to continue providing under served yet deserving youth from urban communities unique opportunities and exposure, your support at events such as this makes it possible.

I will be there with whistles and bells on (ok not really 😉 ) enjoying good food, drinks and conversation.  Taking place on Thursday March 2nd at 7:30pm.
